| Located in the Bay
of Islands of Honduras, Roatan offers a unique and distinctly
Caribbean experience. This island paradise is surrounded by over 60
miles of protected, living reef that provides shelter to thousands
of species of fish and marine life. The interior offers ancient
ruins, tropical jungles and curious upright moving lizards, as well
as brilliantly colored macaws and parrots, and a reef that rivals
the size and diversity of the Great Barrier Reef.
Lush Roatan is the largest of the eight Bay
Islands that lie some 40 miles off the Caribbean coast of the
Honduras, an archipelago patchwork that is all that remains of an
ancient submerged volcanic mountain range, known as the Bonacca
Ridge. Roatan is 40 miles long and 4 miles wide and offers a
friendly and laid-back setting - more Caribbean than Latin American.
Here you can enjoy the superb Tabyana beach at West Bay, the
beautiful Half Moon Bay, 'Dolphin Encounters' at Anthony's Key
Resort and snorkeling and diving amid the Western Hemisphere's most
spectacular underwater reefs.

These superb ruins predate most European
civilizations. Unique among Mayan cities, explore the grassy
plazas filled with intricately carved monuments, statues and
staircases.
|
Visit the interior of the island to see the
aptly named "Jesus Lizards." This unique species of
lizard runs upright on its hind legs & dash even over the
surface of water.
|
Go snorkeling, take a jungle hike, or tour
the lagoon by boat in this beautiful park setting.
