Port of Tampa-Florida's Brightest Cruise Destination

It's an exciting time for the cruise industry at the Port of Tampa! Confirming Tampa's position as one of the nation's fastest growing cruise homeports, the Port of Tampa posted a record year for 2003 with 810,000 passengers passing through its cruise terminals.

New cruise lines have joined the Port igniting fascinating 4, 5, 7, 10, 11 and 14-day itineraries. This season Radisson Seven Seas Navigator joined the fleet along with Carnival Cruise Line, Holland America Line, Royal Caribbean Cruise Line and Celebrity Cruises.

As the cruise business continues to grow in Tampa, the Tampa Port Authority is keeping pace by building the facilities necessary to accommodate passengers and more cruise ships. In 2002, the Port Authority opened Cruise Terminal 3, an 110,000 square foot state-of-the-art cruise terminal facility.

The Port also has three other cruise terminals in operation.

Port officials have worked closely with the community to develop a dynamic downtown waterfront. In 2001, Channelside, an entertainment complex opened on the waterfront and is just a short walk from the Port of Tampa’s cruise facilities. Channelside has a multiplex cinema often showing independent films, an IMAX theater, lots of entertainment, shopping, and restaurants all in a comfortable water-walk and seaside atmosphere.  Nestled between cruise terminals is the Florida Aquarium offering an adventure in sea exploration. Tampa is not only a great place to embark on a cruise, it is also a wonderful destination in and of itself.
