A brief stop will be made at the Tropical Botanical Gardens followed by a short drive to Lady Young Lookout for a stunning panoramic view of Port of Spain. Next, journey to the edge of Trinidad’s tropical forest to ascend to the monastery nestled peacefully in the mountains. Here your guide will provide a cultural and historic perspective of the monks that have lived the contemplative life for decades. Rain Forest Adventure & Asa Wright

Bird watchers and nature lovers will enjoy this guided tour to the Asa Wright Nature Center, tucked away in Trinidad’s spectacular rain forest.

Board your air-conditioned transportation for an approximately one-hour ride to the center. This incredible bird sanctuary and conservation center in the northern hills of Trinidad is world famous among the bird-watching and scientific communities. Upon arrival, your knowledgeable guide will escort you on a nature walk through the lush tropical forest with its exotic trees and colorful flowers. Keep a watchful eye out for the exotic birds such as toucans, white-bearded manikins and hummingbirds, as well as the graceful and colorful butterflies that live in this unique 200-acre sanctuary. Following your one-hour nature walk, brunch will be served at the Old Plantation House. The return drive will be via the same route.

Caroni Bird Sanctuary

One of Trinidad’s ecological wonders, the Caroni Bird Sanctuary is a pristine network of dense mangroves, remote canals and shallow lagoons, and is the breeding grounds of the famed scarlet ibis.

Board your air-conditioned transportation for a 30-minute drive to the sanctuary. Embark a motorized flat-bottom boat to ply the calm waters of the canals and lagoons. Your naturalist/guide will point out the unique flora and fauna along the way. Keep a watchful eye out for heron, osprey and the scarlet ibis, just a few of the 130 bird species typically found in this unique wetland eco-system. Trinidad 4x4 Adventure

Explore the mountainous countryside of Trinidad in 4X4 vehicles and then cool off with a swim in the Caribbean Sea at picturesque Maracas Bay Beach.

Board your air-conditioned transportation for the transfer to the starting point in the town of Maraval. Embark your 4X4 non-air-conditioned vehicle and begin the drive up the mountain. View this rich agriculture area where farmers grow many herbs, spices and vegetables while marvelling at panoramic views only accessible by four-wheel-drive vehicles. Stop in a small mountain village considered one of the highest mountain villages in the entire Caribbean for a short walk while a member of the village shares with you how they grow their herbs and prepare them for market. Continue along the hilly north coast road descending along the Maracas Royal Road towards the Maracas Lookout for a picture stop before continuing to Maracas Bay for a swim and walk along the white-sand beach. After this breathtaking mountain adventure, head back via the town of Maraval to the tour’s starting.

Maracas Waterfall Hike

Hike to the magnificent Maracas Waterfall, hidden in the Maracas Valley, and then cool off in one of the pools at the base of the falls.

Board your transportation for the approximately one-hour transfer to the starting point of the hike. The guide will point out any points of interest along the way and provide information about the Maracas Valley. The magnificent 300-foot tall Maracas Waterfall is situated in the upper part of the valley and is an approximately 45-minute hike from the starting point. The guide will make a few stops along the way to point out any interesting flora or fauna that may be encountered. Once at the falls there will be ample time to take pictures, admire the falls and even take a dip in the cool mountain water. A bottle of water will be supplied at the falls and once everyone is refreshed, hike back down to the starting point and your waiting transportation back to the ship.

Maracas Beach

Relax at Trinidad’s most beautiful and popular beach.

Board your taxi for the approximately one-hour drive to the beach. Pass by many of the city sights, including the Magnificent Seven, a row of imposing colonial houses originally built at the turn of the century as private residences. Once outside the city enjoy the splendor of Trinidad’s countryside, with lush tropical vegetation and dramatic scenery. Upon arrival at the beach, you will have approximately two hours to swim, sunbathe or simply soak in the delightful tropical atmosphere. A snack area, changing facilities and showers are available.

Princess Golf - Golf At St. Andrews

This stunning 18-hole golf course sprawls along the Santa Cruz Valley and is flanked by the steep, majestic mountains of Trinidad’s Northern Range.
